The design consultation will consist of a 1-hour site visit at your property. We will go over your ideas and needs for your garden bed(s) and discuss any questions you have about gardening, plant shopping, deer, etc. Afterward, you will receive a written summary of the plants and ideas we discussed. Also included are a planting guide and a four-season maintenance plan so you know how and when to do your core gardening activities.

This option is excellent for clients who need a little help or want fresh eyes on their space but don’t want a detailed planting plan. The amount of detail we can go in during the hour depends on how many garden areas we discuss - the fewer areas, the more in-detail we can go into regarding plant selection and design suggestions.

The full design process begins with a 1-hour site visit, where I will get to know you and your needs for your garden. We will discuss all the areas you would like to have designed in the final plan. After the site visit, the design process begins. This consists of a conceptual design phase, where I will use 2D computer renderings to showcase 1-2 conceptual designs for your garden. The final design will consist of a Planting Plan, which is a hand-drawn bird’s-eye-view “plant map” so you know exactly where to plant everything. Additionally, you will receive a Plant List and Estimated Budget, which can help you estimate costs and break up your project into manageable phases.

This option is ideal for clients who want to DIY the installation but would like a solid plan. This is also great for clients looking to hire out the plant installation to a landscaper who can implement the designs from the Planting Plan.

We will schedule a time to visit a local Pittsburgh garden center together to pick out plants that are a good fit for your landscape. I can also give you advice on everything from reading plant tags to navigating through so many plant choices so you can gain confidence in shopping on your own in the future.

Once all plants are purchased and at your property, I can come out again and help you place them for proper sun/shade requirements, design considerations, and appropriate groupings. This is a great option for clients who have utilized the 1-hour Design Consultation and the Nursery Visit and would like additional help implementing a design.
